PHILIPPINE WORKSHOP ADVISORY


WHAT: A NATIONAL CONFERENCE-WORKSHOP ON THE SYSTEM OF RICE INTENSIFICATION (SRI). This initiative will include a technical/scientific discussion on SRI practices and results in the Philippines and is intended to further advance the advocacy of sustainable rice production systems.


WHEN: October 28-30, 2004


WHERE: University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)-
College of Agriculture
Los Baños, Laguna


WHO: UPLB-College of Agriculture, NASSA National Sustainable Agriculture Network, SRI-Pilipinas, and Philippine Greens as Co-coordinators/Initiators and open to other interested groups or individuals.

Groups/individuals interested to join are advised to first express their interest. Those who want to present a paper may submit the abstracts of their work related to SRI not later than 15 September 2004. Papers will be pre-assessed for presentation to the conference-workshop and inclusion to the SRI Sourcebook that will eventually be produced. Further inquiries can be directed to the following:
