The NRM Field Course was jointly offered by the Leyte State University and Cornell University and was implemented on May 23 to June 3, 2004 during the summer break of both universities. It was participated by 12 junior students, 6 each from LSU and CU. The students from LSU were majors in forestry and agricultural extension.
This project was designed to address the goals of improving
learning in natural resources management courses (NRM) and
capability building of the faculty. Thus, workshops were
conducted to orient faculty members of the innovative learning
approaches.
This project pilot-tested an innovative experiential
learning strategy that makes learning both highly fun and constructive.
An Educators Workshop on Project Water Education for Teachers
(PWET) and Project Learning Tree (PLT) and several additional
workshops are described in the project documents
