1.  Field-Based Training Course on NMR for CU-LSU Students

The NRM Field Course was jointly offered by the Leyte State University and Cornell University and was implemented on May 23 to June 3, 2004 during the summer break of both universities. It was participated by 12 junior students, 6 each from LSU and CU. The students from LSU were majors in forestry and agricultural extension.

 

 

2. Improving Teaching and Learning in NRM Courses

This project was designed to address the goals of improving learning in natural resources management courses (NRM) and capability building of the faculty.  Thus, workshops were conducted to orient faculty members of the innovative learning approaches.

 

3. Enhancing NRM Component in the Academic Curricula

      Project Leader: Dr. Dolores L. Alcober

This project pilot-tested an innovative experiential learning strategy that makes learning both highly fun and constructive. An Educators Workshop on Project Water Education for Teachers (PWET) and Project Learning Tree (PLT) and several additional workshops are described in the project documents

 

4. Participatory Curriculum Development in the Department of Community Development Education (DCDE)

The Participatory Curriculum Development Project implemented by the Department of Community Development Education and Farm and Resource Management Institute of LSU tried to develop relevant academic curriculum following processes and procedures that are not normally adopted by LSU in the revision and development of new curriculum. The processes include analysis of the existing curriculum, examination and learning from the curriculum of other universities in the Philippines, consultation with students, getting technical inputs from professors and officials of LSU, conference workshop with different sectors, and exposure trip to; successful projects and other activities.
