Larry Harrington worked at CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center) for more than 20 years, most recently as director of the Intensive Agroecosystems Program, before that as director of the Natural Resources Program. He has supervised conservation agriculture research and development programs for CIMMYT in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, China, Kazakhstan, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Central America, Mexico, and other countries. For much of his career at CIMMYT, he had oversight responsibility for the Rice Wheat Consortium for the Indo-Gangetic Plains (RWC), an Ecoregional Program of the CGIAR.
